SOMATIC ART WORKSHOP

•Teenagers are welcome as long as they participate and are well behaved
What to expect:•Integrating Somatic exercises into artistic flow (focused on Somatic Psychology) We will be working through the workshop on Boundaries, Centring, Grounding, Meaning, Surrendering, Creativity and Play
•There will be a short writing portion in this workshop for which you do not need to prepare for. It will be easy and will take max 10min but it is a wonderful transofrmative exercise that I will guide you through it. I will provide pens and papers for this part, but please bring your own journal to take notes for the rest.
•Exploring colour combinations and play
•Exploring patterns and botanicals
•Embracing imperfections and integrating mistakes
•Letting go of perfection and expectations
•Following your own impulses
•Learning how to connect to meaning
•Entering flow state
•Creating new ideas
•Medium used: Mainly Acrylic Paints and Watercolours
Result: You will walk away with at least one final painting 9"X12" and at least one mini one 5"X7" to frame at home and of course some somatic learning to integrate into your daily life and creativity.
**I take some photos of student's mini artworks framed during the workshop to keep some records. The examples featured in the Workshop pictures are some of the past students works.
Bring: A notebook/journal and a pen and dress for paint accidents :)

BIO
I have been studying Bodynamic Somatic Developmental Psychology since 2017 and it is a very potent and fulfilling program that took me on my very own journey of healing and deep understanding myself. I am also an artist and have experience with exhibiting my art in the city of Edmonton. I have been planning for a while to combine both these passions together and this is how Somatic Art Workshop is born. I want to utilize this channel to help others through a creative outlet and see what emerges for everyone through this process. Each individual will have a slightly different journey through this work and it will be a self discovery.
